Questions parents ask

Using Kidspired
What ages does it suit?
Kids 3 to 8. In the settings you pick your child’s age: 3–4, 5–6 or 7+. Younger children get big picture cards they tap to hear. Around age 6, Clock mode adds times and a now line; around 7, Small cards fit a busier day on one screen. Siblings on one tablet each keep their own setup.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once installed, My week, My day and Countdowns all keep working without internet. Changes made offline are kept and sync when the connection comes back. Weather needs a connection now and then.
Which devices does it work on?
iPad (Safari), Android tablets (Chrome), Amazon Fire tablets (full screen in Silk), phones and computers. It’s designed for a 10-inch tablet in landscape, on a stand where your child can reach it. 7- and 8-inch tablets work great too, and larger screens look even better. See the install guide for each device.
Can we use it on more than one device?
Yes. Sign in with the same email on up to 5 devices and they stay in sync within a few seconds. You can set a tablet to show one child only, which is handy for a bedroom. Devices are listed in Parent mode → Settings → Account & sync, where you can rename or remove one.
How many children can I add?
Up to 4, at the same price. Each child has their own week, routines, countdowns, theme and voice language. My week shows one row per child; My day shows one column per child.
How long does setup take?
Seven short steps, one question per screen: your language first, then a parent code, your child, a look, the week, the routines and extras. You’re offered a ready-made routine matched to your child’s age, and asked three short questions about your week — nothing goes on a board until you tap. You can stop anytime and pick up where you left off.
Does it help neurodivergent children?
Many parents look for visual, predictable routines for autistic children and kids with ADHD. Steps are pictures, one at a time, with sound and a clear finish. Animations and sound effects each have their own switch, so you can turn down whatever is too much — with both off, a tap simply highlights the card. The Simple icons look has no character, for kids who prefer it plain. It isn’t a therapy tool, and you know your child best.
Can I import my school’s calendar?
Yes. In Parent mode, go to My week → Options → Import a school calendar, and give it the .ics file your school publishes or paste the list as text. Each event becomes a card on the day it falls on, for the children you’ve selected, and one Undo takes the whole import back. It’s read on the device — nothing is uploaded.
Trial and billing
What happens after the 14-day trial?
Nothing is charged; we never asked for a credit card. Choose monthly ($5.99 CAD) or yearly ($59.90 CAD) to keep going. If you don’t, Kidspired locks and asks a grown-up to subscribe. Your setup is kept for 90 days — subscribe before then and every card, routine, photo and recording comes back exactly where you left it. After that it is deleted, and we email you twice before that happens. Your child never sees a price. Their screen asks them to find a grown-up.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel it yourself in the app — Parent mode → Settings → Account & sync → Manage subscription — confirming with your email address. Or write to contact@getkidspired.com and we’ll cancel it for you. Cancelling stops renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Your routines stay saved for 90 days after access ends — subscribe again before then and everything comes back.
Are there extra costs?
No. Everything in the app is included for up to 4 children. Three optional extras are coming later: more themes, seasonal card packs and AI custom-card credits. They are only offered in Parent mode, never on a child’s screen.
Privacy and language
What happens to my children’s information?
Your family’s week, routines and settings are saved to your account so your devices match — and so are the photos and voice recordings you add, so they survive a lost tablet and appear on your other devices. Your parent code is the exception: it stays on each device and never syncs. Deleting your account removes all of it, including every photo and recording, after a 30-day window in case you change your mind. No ads, no tracking, and nothing is ever sold. Parent mode is locked with a 4-digit code, set per device — so the bedroom tablet and your phone can have different ones. If you forget it, we email you a 6-digit code to reset it.
Which languages does the app support?
English, French and Spanish: every screen and every card. Kidspired is written in English and French from the start, not translated afterwards. The screen language and the voice language are separate, and each child can have their own voice language. You can also record your own voice on any card.
Does it know Quebec holidays?
Yes. Holidays are built in for every Canadian province and territory and every US state. Pick yours, then choose which to show: Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Canada Day, Thanksgiving and more. Count in days, sleeps or your own word, like “dodos”.
