In plain words
- Parents create and manage accounts; children never register themselves.
- Photos and voice recordings are optional — only what you choose to add.
- No ads, no tracking, and nothing is ever sold.
- Children’s profiles, boards, photos and recordings are never used for targeted advertising.
This is a summary. The full policy below applies.
1. About this policy
Kidspired is operated by 9510-2729 Québec Inc., trading as Les Créations Kidspired, in Québec, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our children’s activity app and related website (the “Service”). Where applicable, we act as the controller of that information.
Parents or legal guardians create and manage accounts, children’s profiles and subscriptions. Children may use the activities within a family’s account, but do not independently register or purchase subscriptions. Children’s information remains protected even though they do not have their own accounts.
Our person responsible for the protection of personal information is the President of 9510-2729 Québec Inc., reachable at contact@getkidspired.com. Our mailing address is 7427 Newman Blvd, LaSalle, Quebec H8N 1X3, Canada.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide and technical information needed to operate the Service, including:
- Parent names, email addresses and account preferences.
- Children’s names or nicknames and dates of birth entered by a parent or guardian.
- Activity board contents and saved preferences.
- Photos and voice recordings you choose to upload or create through the Service.
- Device and technical records used to manage access and operate the Service.
- Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status and billing-period information.
Payment details are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment-card number or security code in our app database. If you contact us for assistance or to exercise a privacy right, we use the information you provide to respond.
Please provide only information needed for your family’s use of the Service. You can use a child’s nickname where a legal name is unnecessary. Avoid adding sensitive information or information about other people that an activity does not need.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to provide and personalize your family’s activities, administer accounts and subscriptions, display or play the content you select, manage signed-in devices, send account messages, respond to requests and protect the Service. We also use information where necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve billing and service issues.
We do not sell or rent personal information or use children’s profiles, boards, photos or recordings for targeted advertising. We do not use family content for unrelated marketing without appropriate permission.
Where consent is required, we explain the purpose and obtain the required authorization. Accepting our Terms of Service does not replace a separate privacy consent required by law. If we introduce a materially different use, we provide the required notice and obtain additional consent where necessary.
4. Children’s privacy and parental choices
The Service is designed for children and families under parental management. You must have appropriate authority to provide a child’s information. Photos and voice recordings are optional, and you should have permission to upload identifiable content about others.
Parents and guardians may contact us to review or correct their child’s information, request deletion or withdraw consent to further collection or use, subject to applicable law and verification of their authority. Children also have privacy rights, which we respect in accordance with their age, capacity and applicable law.
Where children’s privacy laws require specific notice or verified parental authorization, those requirements apply before the relevant collection occurs. Parent-managed registration does not remove those obligations. We do not require more personal information than reasonably needed for an activity.
You may remove optional content or contact contact@getkidspired.com to withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful beforehand. A feature may become unavailable if information necessary for it can no longer be used. If you believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate authorization, please contact us.
5. Photos and voice recordings
We use uploaded photos and recordings to provide the features you choose within your family’s account. Uploading content does not itself authorize us to publish it publicly or use it for unrelated purposes.
You control camera and microphone permissions through your device or browser. Revoking a device permission does not delete previously uploaded files; remove the content or contact us to request deletion. Our Terms of Service explain the limited permission needed to host and display your content.
6. Cookies and communications
The Service uses session cookies to support sign-in. Cookies and similar browser storage used for essential functionality help maintain access and preferences. Blocking essential storage may prevent parts of the Service from working.
If we introduce optional analytics or tracking, we will explain the information, purposes and choices involved and obtain consent where required before enabling it. This policy does not authorize undisclosed tracking.
We send transactional emails needed to administer your account. If we offer marketing emails, we will use an appropriate lawful basis and provide an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary account or billing messages.
7. Service providers and disclosures
We use Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Stripe for payment processing and subscription administration, Resend for transactional emails, and Open-Meteo for the optional weather feature. Open-Meteo receives only a location: either the city name you type, or your device’s coordinates rounded to three decimal places if you choose “my location”. It receives nothing else about you, your family or your account. These providers receive the information needed for their functions. We use the safeguards and agreements required by applicable law. Some providers, including Stripe, also process information for their own legal or security obligations under their privacy notices.
We may disclose information where required by law or valid legal process, or where a specific legal permission allows necessary action to protect people, accounts or our legal rights. We limit disclosures to what is justified. A business transfer may involve information only under applicable privacy safeguards and notice requirements.
External websites and services have their own privacy practices. We assess additional providers before using them for processing that requires updated notice or consent.
8. International processing
Our providers operate internationally. Personal information may be stored, processed or accessed outside Québec and Canada, where laws and government-access powers may differ. We do not guarantee that information remains in Canada.
International processing is subject to the assessments, agreements and safeguards required by applicable law. Where GDPR or UK GDPR transfer requirements apply, an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism is required. Contact contact@getkidspired.com for information about applicable safeguards.
9. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or a legal obligation.
Ninety days after access ends — a free trial finishing, or a paid subscription ending — we delete the family’s information. The ninety days are counted from the day access stopped, never from the last time anyone used the app: while a payment is still being retried your access continues and the period does not begin. We email the account’s address twice before it happens, seven days before and again the day before, and each email gives the date. For seven days after the deletion the account can still be restored if you write to us; after that it is destroyed and cannot be recovered. This is a fixed period rather than a judgement we make case by case: children’s information is not kept because it might be useful later.
You do not have to wait for that period, and you do not have to ask us. You can delete your Kidspired account yourself, at any time, from Parent mode ▸ Settings ▸ Account & sync ▸ Delete my account. You are asked to type your email address to confirm. Nobody else has to approve it and you do not have to write to us first.
What is deleted
- your account and the email address it uses
- every child on it, with their name, photo, birthday and settings
- their weeks, routines, rewards and progress
- your countdowns, the holidays you chose, and your own events
- every photo and voice recording you added
- the list of devices your family uses, and the sign-in sessions on them
What happens on your devices. Every device signed in to the account is signed out the next time it connects, and tells whoever is holding it that the account has been deleted. Each one erases its own copy of your family’s data at the same time. Settings that belong to the device rather than to your family — the app’s language, whether the screen is kept awake — are left alone.
When a deletion you asked for becomes final. We hold the data for 30 days and then destroy it permanently. During those 30 days, if you deleted the account by mistake or somebody deleted it without your knowledge, write to contact@getkidspired.com and we can put it back. After 30 days nobody can recover it — not you and not us. We send a confirmation email to the account’s address as soon as the account is deleted, so that if it was not you, you find out.
Your email address afterwards. The address is released immediately: you can create a brand-new Kidspired account with the same address the same day. That new account starts empty. If you later ask us to restore the deleted one, we will need a different address for it, because the original is in use.
Billing. If you have a paid subscription it is cancelled when you delete the account, not at the end of the 30 days — you are not charged again while the data is being held. Restoring an account inside the 30 days means starting a new subscription.
Asking us instead. You do not have to use the app. Write to contact@getkidspired.com from the address on the account and we will delete it for you. Closure includes stopping future subscription renewal.
Cancelling a subscription stops renewal under our Terms and normally leaves access until the paid period ends. It does not itself delete your account; the ninety-day period at the top of this section begins when access ends.
We delete information that is no longer needed, subject to justified legal exceptions. Limited billing, consent, security or dispute records may need to be retained separately. Backup copies may be removed through their normal retention cycle, with access restricted in the meantime. Copies stored locally on your devices may need to be cleared separately.
10. Security
We are responsible for reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of personal information and the risks of processing it. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please protect access to your account email and devices and report suspected unauthorized access to contact@getkidspired.com.
If a confidentiality incident occurs, we investigate, take appropriate protective steps and make the notifications and keep the records required by applicable law.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access and correct information, withdraw consent, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing and obtain eligible information in a portable format. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions. Contact contact@getkidspired.com to make a request, including a request concerning your child’s information.
We may ask for proportionate verification of identity or authority before responding. We respond within applicable legal deadlines and explain any lawful refusal and available recourse. You may complain to our privacy officer or the competent regulator, including the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where it has jurisdiction, or your relevant European or UK authority.
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal grounds include contractual necessity for the adult’s account and subscription, applicable legal obligations, consent for optional uses and children’s information where appropriate, and legitimate interests for proportionate essential operations where justified. A parent’s subscription does not automatically establish a contractual basis for processing the child’s information. Any required parental authorization and additional safeguards remain applicable.
12. Changes and contact
We update this policy when our practices change and identify the effective date above. We give appropriate notice of material changes and obtain fresh consent where required; continued use is not a substitute for required consent.
